Delete your EchoReads account
Deleting an account cannot be undone.
Your reading history, saved items, bookmarks and preferences go with it. If you subscribe again later, you start fresh.
In the app
- Open EchoReads and sign in.
- Go to Profile, then Privacy and security.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm. The account and its data are removed.
By email
Write to support@echoreads.online from the address on the account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We will confirm it is you, delete the account, and write back when it is done. Allow up to 30 days, though it is usually the same week.
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting an EchoReads account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it in your store account first, or you will keep being charged for an account that no longer exists.
- iPhone or iPad: Settings, your name, Subscriptions.
- Android: Google Play, your profile, Payments and subscriptions.
What is deleted
- Your name, email address and account record.
- Reading history, progress, bookmarks and saved items.
- Downloads stored on your devices, once you remove the app.
What may remain
A minimal record that a deletion request was made and completed, and anything we are legally required to keep, such as records of payments held by the app stores. Neither identifies what you read.
